Here’s a simple & protein-rich recipe for Tuna Patties using Munnujii Tuna

Ingredients (Makes 6–8 patties)

  • 1 can Munnujii Tuna, drained well
  • 1 medium potato, boiled & mashed (or ½ cup breadcrumbs for a lighter version)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander or parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg (to bind)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red chilli flakes or paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • 2 tbsp oil (for shallow frying)

Tips

  • Add grated cheese for a melty center.
  • Swap potato for sweet potato for extra fiber.
  • To make them healthier, air-fry or bake at 200°C for 10–12 minutes.
Instructions
    1. Prepare the mixture:
  • In a bowl, combine drained tuna, mashed potato (or breadcrumbs), onion, chilli, coriander, egg, pepper, paprika, and salt.
  • Mix until well blended.
    2. Shape the patties:
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions.
  • Shape into round or oval patties and lightly coat with breadcrumbs.
    3. Cook:
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
  • Place patties and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp.
    4. Serve:
  • Serve hot with mint chutney, ketchup, or a yogurt dip.
  • Great as a snack, burger filling, or side for salads.
